LGBTI+ Domestic Violence Awareness Day

Today is Australia’s first LGBTI+ Domestic Violence Awareness Day.

Nearly one in three LGBTIQ+ people have experienced domestic and family violence, either in a current or previous relationship.

But less than 6% of LGBTI+ people report this to the police.

Today we say #ImHereForYou to raise awareness of this disproportionate impact on the LGBTI+ community, remember the victims who’ve lost their lives, and support those who have survived, or may still be in an abusive relationship.
